This movie scene inspired a scene in GOSSIP GIRL. Who can tell me the name of the movie and the scene it inspired?
My sixth GOSSIP GIRL episode of twelve was the second season finale: “THE GOODBYE GOSSIP GIRL” (225), written by Josh Safran. It was shot in March 2009 and aired May 17, 2009. The show was set in May, centered around graduation and the approach of summer, but we were shooting it during the last part of winter, so if you look closely you can see that there are no leaves on the trees and many of those in the background on the streets are wearing coats. The art department actually attached leaves to the trees in the school courtyard sequence. This is the episode that solidified the relationship between Chuck and Blair. The final sequence is one of my favorites, set in front of the Plaza Hotel (the setting of some of my favorite films, including THE WAY WE WERE and NORTH BY NORTHWEST). We even shot one of the scenes in the Oak Bar, which I returned to shoot later in the fourth season. Another of my favorite shots: the steadicam shot at the party, carefully choreographed, as one character leads us to another.
