THE TRUTH — After Eleanor (guest star Margaret Colin) gives Blair (Leighton Meester) an ultimatum, Blair is even more determined to remedy Waldorf Designs’ problems by making a splash with a dress at the upcoming Cotillion, but a shocking revelation at the ball affects everyone. Serena (Blake Lively) becomes worried about Steven’s (guest star Barry Watson) attitude toward her, but after some investigating she discovers the surprising reason why. Chuck (Ed Westwick) finds an unlikely ally as he tries to drive a wedge between Bart (Robert John Burke) and Lily’s (Kelly Rutherford) relationship to help expose his father’s secret. Meanwhile, Dan (Penn Badgley) publishes another article, but the effect is just the opposite of what he was hoping for. Chace Crawford and Matthew Settle also star. Amy Heckerling directed the episode written by Sara Goodman (#605).

Exciting news for plaid fans! Whether you came of age wearing mini-kilt’s like Cher (Alicia Silverstone) in Clueless or copped your plaid penchant from Blair (Leighton Meester) on Gossip Girl, you’re going to want to tune in for Blair’s bachelorette on January 23. Seminal director Amy Heckerling (Clueless,Fast Times at Ridgemont High) will be at the helm when the Upper East Siders return to the airwaves. The sartorial strings of connection have always been there for those of us who are old enough to have seen Clueless on the big screen, and recent seasons have brought another connection - actor Wallace Shawn who played Mr. Hall in the ’90s film features as Blair’s stepfather on GG.

It will be awesome to see Heckerling’s hand in yet another project that has been so prolific in dictating a generation’s fashion for a moment in time. We’ll see if Gossip Girl has the lasting status as a cultural touchstone that Clueless has enjoyed.

Blair’s Bachelorette party will be featured in episode 12 titled “Father and the Bride” and was written by Peter Elkoff.

In the January 23 episode of Gossip Girl, Blair celebrates her bachelorette party. The episode, titled “Father and the Bride”, is directed by Clueless director Amy Heckerling. 

While Blair prepares to celebrate her party, some people scheme to “make this a night to remember”.  Meanwhile, we know that Nate starts looking into what caused the car crash in the January 16 episode.  In this episode, he learns the truth about what caused the crash, but he needs to join forces with an ally to gather all of the evidence.  Serena and Dan pretend that they’re dating again to “protect someone close to them”.

This is the January 23 episode of Gossip Girl, airing at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
