Today I begin filming my final episode of twelve that I’ve done for GOSSIP GIRL.  I thought that I would revisit one episode each day during my shoot.  My first episode was “THE HANDMAIDEN’S TALE” (106).  It was shot in August/September 2007.  The show hadn’t even aired yet.  My inspirations for the episode were EYES WIDE SHUT and the French film RIDICULE, as well as the song KISS KISS by the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs.  It was selected as one of the top ten television episodes of 2007 by Newsweek Magazine.  It premiered on October 24, 2007.

And I should have mentioned in my tumblr post that Jessica Queller wrote “The Handmaiden’s Tale”. She is one of my favorite writers on #GG. (x)
