Cosmic_Love: Can we expect an explosive Chuck and Blair reunion in the premiere after spending their summers apart? #GG
In a word: HELL YES. Sorry, was that two? I can tell you that the premiere will pick up with Chuck and Blair in a Monte Carlo Hotel Room. It will definitely be explosive and lots will be revealed. Just making sure you all caught that: Hotel. Room. Chuck. And. Blair. Does this make you tingle in all the right places, Chair fans?

puking_unicorn: Any scoop on the father-son relationship between Bart and Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl? Is Bart still the cold hearted monster?
Chuck will most definitely be at war with his father in the final season, and it will start to affect the women he loves the most: Lily and (sorry to be the bearer of less-than-stellar news, Chair fans) Blair.

Gossip Girl: The CW doesn’t currently have any plans to continue the world of Gossip Girlwithout the original cast, according to Pedowitz. “I believe shows that have a loyal core audience deserve a proper send off for both the network and the fans…[It’s] what we did for One Tree Hill, so we’ll do it again here for Gossip Girl.” Right, but how will it end? Pedowitz teases a “big event” (ya don’t say! On Gossip Girl?), but wouldn’t give details. Hmph. Just ‘fess up it’s a Chuck and Blair wedding already! (Fingers crossed on behalf of all the rabid Chair fans out there.)

Lynette: I’ll take anything you got on next season of Gossip Girl. Is there hope for Chuck and Blair?

That’s the first time we’ve heard that question. Oh, we kid because we love! After all, we asked the exact same thing to Leighton Meester recently. “Who knows? But probably,” she laughed to us. “I think you can imagine that happening for sure. I have ways that I hope it will end, but I don’t want to get anybody else’s hopes up.” But before Chuck and Blair can find forever love with each other, Meester hopes for some Gossip Girl madness. “I hope that a lot of crazy stuff happens. I’m ready for it.” As are we.

So was it Chuck (Ed Westwick), the dark knight, or Dan (Penn Badgley), the pauper?

That was the question Blair (Leighton Meester) faced in Gossip Girl’s season-five finale, “The Return of the King,” which featured several breakups, a shocking hookup and one downward spiral. Ah, all in a day’s work on the Upper East Side!

So who did Blair choose? And what does her decision mean for the fate of Chair and Dair? Plus, what’s next for Serena (Blake Lively), after her shocking actions in tonight’s episode? Executive producer Stephanie Savage answers those questions and more…

Chair For the Win? Blair chose Chuck! After an internal debate about which love is betterwith Dan she feels safe, with Chuck she feels vulnerableBlair ended up choosing Chuck. Alas, timing was, once again, not on their side as Chuck had just been ousted from Bass Industries by his recently resurrected father for always putting Blair before the company.

Don’t worry, Chair fans, Blair isn’t going down without a fight! In fact, she followed Chuck to a European casino, where she literally, and metaphorically, bet it all on him. Too bad we have to wait all summer to find out if Chuck called her bet. Of ending the season with a possible Chuck and Blair reunion, Savage says, ” I think it was just a question of arcing out that relationship so it ended in a place where it was Blair coming to declare that she was in it to win it with Chuck and leaving that as the question of season six.”

The Return of Old Serena: She’s ba-a-ack! After accidentally leaking Blair’s diary pages to Gossip Girl, there was nothing accidental about what Serena did next: manipulating Dan to cheat on Blair. Yes, Dan and Serena had sex, but once Dan found out Serena recorded their tryst (in the very same place she slept with Nate back in the pilot flashback!), he wanted nothing to do with her. Cue Serena leaving town, doing drugs and hooking up with some random dude (played by Cobra Starship lead singer Gabe Saporta).

“The final shot of Serena on the train, [having] Serena leave town as we saw her come back into town in the pilot, was definitely very deliberate,” Savage explains. “The idea now feeling that she’s lost Blair, she’s lost Dan, she’s sort of all by herself again. It’s going to put her in a very precarious emotional situation when we start season six.”

Dair Down For the Count? Things are looking pretty bleak for Dan and Blair, who were recently in a very good place. After reading Blair’s leaked diary, he issued her an ultimatum and let his insecurities get the best of him…hence the whole sleeping with Serena part of the episode. As for Blair, she just didn’t love Dan the way she loves Chuck. Scorned by the two women in his life, Dan ended the episode teaming up with Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) to write an explosive tell-all book about the Upper East Side, the book he should have written all along, he says ominously.

So does this mean the romantic portion of Dan and Blair’s relationship has come to an indefinite end? “I never like to say yay or nay to that type of question, but we crafted the last act of the episode to set us in certain direction next year,” Savage says. As for whether or not Blair will find out that Dan cheated on her, Savage teases, “If somebody had a sex tape on their cell phone and Gossip Girl and they said they deleted, but you never saw that it was deleted…”

Pedal-to-the-Metal Season Six: Savage says the writers have been rewatching the pilot and talking about their favorite episodes to prepare for the series’ final season, which she says will be 10 or 11 episodes long. (The CW will make an official announcement on Thursday at their upfront presentation.) “It’ll be really sad and weird when it’s over, but we’re leaving it all on the floor,” Savage says of the final episodes. “We’re really want them to count and for every one to be really special.”

Savage says the final season will definitely be “focusing on our core characters,” and later clarifies, “that does include Georgina.” So will Michelle Trachtenberg be appearing in all of G.G.’s remaining episodes, possibly as a regular? It’s something that we’re talking about,” Savage says.

Check back with us tomorrow for more season six scoop from Savage, including what’s next for Nate and Lily, who chose Bart over Rufus in the finale.

What did you think of Gossip Girl’s finale? Do you think Blair made the right choice? What are you excited to see in the final season? Sound off in the comments!

Gunderson: Anything on Gossip Girl?! I’d prefer something on Chuck and Blair if you have it.

This may or may not apply: A source tells me Chuck is going to try to find out who donated blood when he was in the hospital, and my Spidey senses tell me that could lead to an interesting reveal. If it’s Blair, could be a good thing for Chuck and Blair fans. Though I’m guessing it’s not.

A new couple emerges! A shocking paternity reveal! Yep, it’s just another ordinary day on the Upper East Side!

Tonight’s installment of Gossip Girl was jam-packed with drama, including a major shift in the Chuck (Ed Westwick), Blair (Leighton Meester) and Dan (Penn Badgley) love triangle as the soon-to-be divorced B makes a choice between the two men. Plus, Cece’s funeral brings out the worst in her family and serves as the setting for one of the Van der Woodsen’s most scandalous secrets to be revealed. Spoiler alert: Serena (Blake Lively) has another sibling!

So who did Blair choose? And who is Serena’s secret sibling?

WHAT WE LEARNED

Blair Chooses Dan…For Now: Blair and Chuck start the episode on very different missions: She may have found a loophole in her pre-nup while he’s intent on destroying Dan’s love life. ”His chances with her will be destroyed and she will be mine again,” Chuck says of telling Blair that Dan sent the video to Gossip Girl. Blair accuses Chuck of lying about the e-mail, but he maintains his innocence. When Blair confronts Dan about the blast, he admits that he sent it, but only to stop the wedding because he knew Blair wouldn’t be happy with Louis (Hugo Becker). And just like that: Dan is forgiven!

Blair finds an unlikely ally in her quest for an anullment: her Royal minder who is in love with Prince Louis! It turns out the Grimaldis will let Blair leave her marriage if she promises never to speak of the marriage and her separation. Too bad Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) who is listening just outside of the door, isn’t under a gag order and happens to have Dan’s phone. Georgina and Chuck team up and send the picture of Dan and Blair kissing to Gossip Girl causing the Grimaldis to ask Blair to pay the dowry. Yikes! Oh, and it turns out the royal minder (truth: we can never remember her name) lied about the deal!

Finally, the three points of the love triangle come to a head: “Dan has been trying to keep us apart, so he could have you all to himself,” Chuck proclaims and Dan admits it’s the truth before walking off. But before Chair fans could begin their celebration, Blair dashes Chuck’s dream of a reunion. “I love you. I always will, but that doesn’t mean I’m in love with you. At least not right now, not the way you need me to be, not the way you deserve,” she tells a heartbroken Chuck.

After making a deal with the devil Georgina that will secure her family’s fortune, Blair heads to Brooklyn. “I told Chuck he doesn’t have my heart anymore,” she tells Dan. “I realized it belongs to someone else.” And then they kissed…and it was different from their previous kisses: this was their first kiss as a legitimate couple. After Blair says his name, not Humphrey, but Dan, he says, ”You said my name. Say it again.”

Family Feud: Cece may be gone, but she is still providing the drama. Cece gave very detailed instructions for her wake and funeral and it’s very Irish…think whiskey, bagpipes, the works, all to be housed in Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus’ (Matthew Settle) apartment, naturally, which actually belongs to Cece. Remember this as it will be important later.

Papa Van der Woodsen (William Baldwin) makes his triumphant return to the UES as he’s the executor of Cece’s estate. While Lily gets her hands on the paintings…Ivy (Kaylee Defer) gets almost everything else. No, we don’t mean Charlie, Cece’s will states that Ivy Dickens will receive a hefty inheritance! Cece knew all of Ivy’s secrets and still left her everything. Burn! Serena and Lily accuse Ivy of “poisoning” Cece against her family, but Ivy says all she wanted to do was take care of Cece and admits she loves her. Later, Ivy deals a low blow to Lily and Rufus, the couple who took her in: “This is my apartment now,” Ivy says, kicking Lily and Rufus out of their apartment. Oh snap! It’s on like Donkey Kong, y’all!

Sister Sister: The biggest bombshell dropped in this episode? Serena and Charlie aren’t cousins, they’re sisters…from the same mister! Yes, William is Ivy’s real father as the “good” doctor cheated on Lily while they were married…with her sister. Damn, the Van der Woodsens are giving the families on Game of Thrones some serious competition for most dysfunctional. While Charlie has yet to find out this information and says she wants nothing to be with the money-hungry family, we’re betting this relevation might change her mind.

As for Serena, aside from gaining a new sister (not that she knows about that yet), she also may have gained a new title: Gossip Girl! While hurricane Georgina swept through the UES this episode, she’s decided to give up her post as Gossip Girl, which she found to be pretty boring. Instead of, you know, sending a USB or files via e-mail, she sends her entire laptop containing the city’s dirtiest secrets to S.

WHAT’S AHEAD

Uncle Jackass No More!: Lily reveals that it was Uncle Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington) who saved Chuck’s life after the car accident as he needed an emergency blood transfusion during his surgery. Our only question? Isn’t Jack living pretty far away from the UES? Someone who lives a bit closer? Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley), who we know Jack has been in touch with. Things that make you go hmmm…

When we spoke to executive producer Josh Safran about Hurley’s return to the show and Diana’s connection to the Bass family, he would only tease, “That story is far from over.” And yes, Jack will return as an ally for his nephew Chuck, in case the whole saving-his-life part didn’t make that obvious. “He’s still an unrepentant bad boy, but he’s enjoying it a little bit more,” Safran says.

Hope for Chair Lovers: We know this episode was probably pretty difficult for fans of Chuck and Blair’s relationship, but just remember what Safran once told us: ”Chuck and Blair are never over.” Also, Chuck will be a little preoccupied with a storyline unrelated to Blair to truly pine…for now.

Dream Sequence: Though the promo for the show’s April 2 return teases Dan and Blair’s lack of…sexual chemistry (remisicent of a certain O.C. couple, no?), we can say that those kissing pictures (you know the ones) from episode 19 are not a dream sequence. Take from that what you will.

What did you think of tonight’s episode? Are you happy Dan and Blair are officially together or do you prefer Blair with Chuck? Were you surprised as we were when it was revealed William is Charlie’s father? Sound off in the comments!

Best. Drunk. Ever.

Who would’ve thought Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) would turn out to be such a fun drunk? That’s exactly what the bride-to-be’s Bachelorette party proved, with Blair letting loose and having fun…that is until she was arrested. Also complicating things were Chuck (Ed Westwick) who was determined to find out why Blair changed her mind and Prince Louis’s (Hugo Becker) scheming sister Beatrice (Roxane Mesquida).

So is Chuck reverting back to his scheming ways? And will he and Blair ever reunite? Executive producer Josh Safran weighs in on those burning questions and more…

WHAT WE LEARNED

Bachelorette Gone Wild!: While at church, Blair confesses to the priest that she is still thinking about Chuck: ”My dreams at night…may not be about the man I’m going to marry. I love Louis, I do, but I fear the devil on my shoulder. Chuck Bass. I know I need to honor my pact with God to protect him.” Blair wants her favorite priest as her royal adviser and tells him so after her confession…except it’s not Father Smythe guiding her: it’s Beatrice’s priest boy-toy Father Cavalia (Marc Menard). Ruh-roh!

Beatrice decides to sabotage Blair by getting her drunk at her Bachelorette party and then alone with Chuck Bass so everyone can see “where her true heart lies.” Chuck confronts Blair about her secrect. “Sooner or later you’re going to crack,” he tells her when she won’t budge. After this conversation, Blair decides maybe she should cut loose at her Bachelorette party. Beatrice plans a drinking game about Blair’s exes in order to get the bride-to-be drunk. Can we just say that Blair is cuter drunk than we ever dreamed? “This game is kicking my ass!” she exclaims!

While drunk, Blair tells Beatrice, “There are some people you can only love by not being with them.” Later, Blair goes out to get air and some random pops a joint in her mouth…right when two cops walk up to the bar. Blair thinks they are strippers and antagonizes them…leading to her arrest and our favorite moment of the episode: Blair tossing her tiara to the crowd, telling them, “I love you, New York!”

Thankfully, Beatrice had a change of heart and bought all of the bar patrons’ cell phones off of them to protect Blair’s image and later dumps the priest. Yay! Too bad Dan and Beatrice thought Chuck was behind Blair’s arrest. Boo! After Blair wakes up, she tells Serena she found Louis’ wedding vows, which are perfect…but were not written by him. Yes, Mr. Dan Humphrey wote the vows, y’all, which reference Sabrina, an Audrey Hepburn film. All together now: Aww! Too bad Blair has no idea that Dan wrote the vows. We’re thinking that’ll change soon…

MORE: How and When Will Gossip Girl End? The Show’s Boss Weighs In

Fake Dating Becoming Real?: Serena (Blake Lively) and Dan are still fake-dating and Serena is definitely enjoying it more than Dan, who is paying for eight dollar cappuccinos. Nate deletes Serena’s column. He lies to Serena and tells her marketing told him to push back the debut of Serena’s column. “The publicity you are getting right now is distracting people from your real talent.” They might want him to write a sequel to Inside…and they do after reading Serena’s blog post about her relationship with Dan.

In order to protect the integrity of his second book, Dan fake breaks up with Serena. “We dated for years so of course there’s history there,” Dan tells Serena, who almost admits that she still has feelings for him. Later, Serena calls Dan and tells him Blair still wants them to fake-date to protect her, except Blair told her the exact opposite. This should end well!

Nate Gets a Storyline! And It’s Good!: Nate (Chace Crawford) has officially partnered with Gossip Girl in order to find out who caused the car crash…and Serena’s blog becomes collateral damage. Nate fires Serena and his assistant records it and sends it to Gossip Girl. Not knowing what ele to do, Serena tells Tripp (Aaron Tveit) that Gossip Girl is telling Nate he set up the accident. “There’s no way I can prove that I didn’t do it,” Tripp says and accuses his wife Maureen of setting this up, saying she was upset that their grandfather gave up on him for Nate. Then surprise! Nate and their grandfather pop out and punk Tripp, revealing they set up the whole argument to catch him in his lie.

Tripp finally tells them all the truth: Ivy’s ex Max (still hangin’ around the UES) offered to help Tripp in exchange for some money. Max was supposed to drain the oil in the car and when he didn’t, Tripp got his hands dirty and did it himself. ”I wanted to ruin your weekend, not your life,” Tripp says. “I did what I had to.”  While his grandfather had nothing to do with the accident, Nate blames him for pitting the cousins against each other and tells him he doesn’t want his support anymore at The Spectator.

WHAT’S AHEAD:

The Dark Knight Returns?: Could Blair’s refusal to be with Chuck (or explain why she won’t be with him) cause our former bad boy to return to his devious ways? Well, partnering with the evil priest definitely doesn’t bode well . “She already thinks I’m the villain,” he says. “I might as well become one.” Executive producer Safran tells us: “It’s not necessarily a different Chuck, but the progress that Chuck has made, it suddenly becomes an uphill battle to maintain that progress and not slide back. The question becomes will he maintain that progress or will he slide back?” Something tells us Chuck is partnering with the priest to protect Blair. Wishful thinking? Maybe.

No Reunion in the Near Future for Chair: Fans of Chuck and Blair are a bit frustrated (to put it mildly) that yet another obstacle has been put in the duo’s road to happiness. “Of course we have to draw it out a little bit,” Safran explains, “but like when they say, ‘Why can’t Chuck and Blair just be together already?!’ and it’s like well if they were together then we’d have to break them up in five minutes. The thing is, maybe if Chuck and Blair ever get together fully we want to earn that and take it to a new place, but also I think Blair knows that now. I think it really isn’t just us going, ‘No, let’s keep them apart as long as we can.’ She has been with Chuck, she saw what went wrong, she is maybe nervous to get burned again. They’ve come close several times and so I also think that is what you do when you get older. She is not going to jump right back into it. She’s going to think about it.”

Boys Preferring Blair: Lately, viewers have been noting the lack of interest from the male population in Serena as it seems every guy who meets Blair falls madly in love with her. Safran explains, “Serena has not had a love interest [lately], which is a choice on her part. It’s like she’s taking a timeout.” As for the interest in Blair, Safran says, “She was always in the shadow and feeling like, ‘When people get to know me, they don’t want me.’ I think she really came into her own. She was in the dark for so long and here she is.”

What did you think of tonight’s episode, Gossip Girl fans? Did you enjoy drunk Blair as much as we did? Do you think Chuck will return to his old ways? Will Blair find out about Dan writing the vows? Sound off in the comments! Also: we’re attending a screening of the 100th episode this week so send your questions for Safran and executive producer  Stephanie Savage!
