The CW has announced that this will be the last season of Gossip Girl so, for the first time in the show’s history, the ratings don’t matter very much. How many people will tune in to say goodbye to Serena and friends? We’ll find out as the final season progresses.

The sixth season of Gossip Girl typically airs on Monday nights on The CW network. There are just 10 episodes. The cast includes Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, Kaylee DeFer, Kelly Rutherford, and Matthew Settle.

Here are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, ordinarily the best way to tell if Gossip Girl would be cancelled or renewed for another season.

Well would you look at that. Gossip Girl is still #2 on the CW network when it comes to the 18-34 Women demographic.

Seems like the time for the show to get the ax is looming ! Unfortunately, the ratings are almost lower than ever and it doesn’t look good! Maybe it’s time to change the timeslot to a later date during the week? Not enough is being done to save viewership! ( Looking at you Failfran & CO.)

According to EW, the second installment of Gossip Girl held a mere 1.4 million viewers with a 0.7 demo - not so great news but better than 1.2 ( which is the lowest rated episode to date.)

On The CW, “Gossip Girl” averaged a low 1.41 million viewers for its season premiere, though the drama’s 0.8 key demo rating doesn’t look so bad by netlet standards.
