You’re also the costume designer on Gossip Girl. What will happen to all of the amazing clothes worn by Serena, Blair, Chuck and the rest of the gang when the show comes to an end?

[The wardrobe is] being logged out and sent to Warner Brothers studio. Some of it will be repurposed.

Does that mean we should keep our eye out for Gossip Girl hand-me-downs on The Carrie Diaries?

Maybe. I’m going back and forth with that one, like, ‘Do I want to use that iconic dress from Blair Waldorf here?’ I kind of do in some weird way, so we’ll see! I’m in the process of figuring that out in my head. It’s weird, I’m kind of attached like,  ‘Oh that’s my favorite Blair Waldorf dress but it would be really exciting to see on Carrie.’ There is a very big possibility that you’ll see iconic pieces appear in a very different way, a very Carrie way.

In addition, viewers will be treated to an exclusive sneak peek at the CW’s upcoming Sex and the City prequel soap, The Carrie Diaries.

XOXO, ERIC DAMAN‘GOSSIP GIRL’ COSTUME DESIGNER ON HEADBANDS, BLAKE LIVELY AND THE END OF THE SERIES

No matter who sleeps with whom on the sixth and final season of “Gossip Girl,” fans of the series will be happy about one development.
“We’re bringing back the headbands,” costume designer Eric Daman told The Daily. “It’s almost as if they have some sort of supernatural power.”
The show’s fashion godfather, an alum of  “Sex and the City,” said the last season, which premieres Monday, will be like “Gossip Girl 2.0.”
“We’ll be bringing back little elements of who we fell in love with in season one,” he teased.
Bidding farewell to the Upper East Side is “bittersweet,” Daman said, especially after bonding with Blake Lively, whom he helped make into a front-row designer darling.
“When I first met her, she wasn’t aware of designers. She was kind of like Cinderella, starry-eyed in front of all of the shoes,” he reminisced. “She’s done a great job growing into herself. I’m proud to help her.”
Next up for Daman is costumes for the CW’s “Sex and the City” prequel, “The Carrie Diaries,” debuting in January.
“We’ve been to Forever 21 and H&M and Urban Outfitters and Top Shop,” he said. “[The Carrie Bradshaw character]’s not going to be a tricked-out fashionista — yet.”
NATE (Chace Crawford)Once a messy schoolboy and now a digital newspaper editor, Nate “is really into great Rag & Bone suits,” Daman said. “We bought back the blue palette for him. It always makes Chace’s eyes look amazing.”
BLAIR (Leighton Meester)“Remember when Blair was this majestic schoolgirl reigning on The Met steps?” Daman said. This time her headbands will be “mature” (no bows!) and she’ll rock Prada prints. “There will be a grown-up feel.”
SERENA (Blake Lively) Bad girl Serena is “going back to the short skirts that remind me of her little schoolgirl kilt,” Daman spilled. Expect her in a yellow Jenny Packham gown on Monday’s premiere: “Blake fell in love.”
DAN (Penn Badgley)“He was that hipster doofus that made you say, ‘Is that ironic or is he really wearing that?’” Daman said of Dan, now a prolific writer sporting cashmere v-necks for an “intellectual, French film-noir feel.”
CHUCK (Ed Westwick)“People are obsessed with Chuck,” Daman said. So he’s giving the people what they want: bow ties, plaid and “brutish, Wall Street” suits. “All of his outfits are tailored especially for him,” Daman said.

Ready for the high school version of Sex and the City?

The CW has ordered a pilot of The Carrie Diaries, based on SATC author Candace Bushnell’s novel following young Carrie Bradshaw. The story tells of Bradshaw coming of age in the 1980s, “asking her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family, while exploring the worlds of high school and Manhattan.” Amy Harris, who worked on HBO’s original SATC, wrote the Carrie Diaries pilot. Executive producers include Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Len Goldstein, Candace Bushnell.

But that’s not all…

The network also ordered its new version of Beauty and the Beast to pilot. It’s loosely based on the 1987 CBS series and billed as “a modern day romantic love story with a procedural twist.” Jennifer Levin (Felicity) and Sherri Cooper (Brothers and Sisters) are the writers. Paul J. Witt and C. Anthony Thomas, Ron Koslow, Bill Haber are the executive producers.

In addition, the network made official its pilot order for a TV version of the DC Comics hero Green Arrow. There was one bit of new information about the show: It’s title will be simply Arrow.

All told, The CW has picked up four pilots so far, with these three joining the previously announced investigative thriller Cult.
